‘Ingenious’ Sherlock wins prestigious Peabody Award

23 May 2011

On Monday 23rd May, one of America’s most prestigious accolades, a Peabody Award, was given to Sherlock: A Study In Pink.

The Award was given at a star-studded luncheon at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York hosted by talkshow legend Larry King. The awards are “determined by one criterion – excellence”, and are presented to “the best of the best.” Rebecca Eaton, Executive Producer for Masterpiece, picked up the award on behalf of Hartswood Films.

The judging panel called Sherlock an “ingenious update”: “The venerable Victorian sleuth is audaciously updated for our high-tech times, and the game is afoot all the quicker.”
