Neil Morrissey returns to BBC ONE in "CARRIE & BARRY"
This autumn sees the return of Carrie & Barry, the exuberant sitcom which reunites Neil Morrissey with Hartswood Films,
writer Simon Nye and director Martin Dennis, the team who made him a household name in the long-running hit Men Behaving Badly.
Neil stars opposite Claire Rushbrook, Mark Williams and Michelle Gomez in the series which is produced by Sue Vertue.
It's a time of great change: Barry (Neil Morrissey) has lost his taxi licence, which throws the cat amongst the pigeons as
he sets out to find another source of income and generally reinvents himself whilst keeping his
spirits up. Meanwhile Carrie
(Claire Rushbrook, Linda Green, Family Business) discovers that she is adopted and decides to track down her real mother.
Barry's usually despondent teenage daughter Sinead (Sarah Quintrell) becomes a traffic warden and is scarily happy and in
love with a boyfriend Barry hates - Adrian, her whirlwind fiancé, is also Barry's new tenant. Barry's mate Kirk
(Mark Williams, The Fast Show, Harry Potter) is still guaranteed to say the wrong thing and soon has the black cab they
shared all to himself, whilst Michelle (Michelle Gomez, Green Wing), Carrie's acid-tongued best friend and fellow beautician,
decides on a course of physical improvement, determined to nab herself a boyfriend...
Carrie & Barry is a Hartswood Films production for BBC One. The series is produced by Sue Vertue (Coupling, Gimme Gimme Gimme)
and directed by
Martin Dennis (Men Behaving Badly, Black Books). The Executive Producer is Beryl Vertue (Coupling, Men Behaving Badly).
