Sherlock wins ‘Best TV Detective’ at the National Television Awards

Sherlock‘s Benedict Cumberbatch has won the award for Best TV Detective at this year’s National Television Awards, held on January 22nd at the o2 Arena in London.

Sherlock was nominated alongside Broadchurch detectives DS Ellie Miller (Olivia Colman) and DI Alec Hardy (David Tennant), Luther (Idris Elba), DC Rachel Bailey (Suranne Jones) and DS Ronnie Brooks (Bradley Walsh). Benedict received the award via a satellite link, hours after Sherlock was revealed to the BBC’s most popular drama series in a decade.
