A Scandal in Belgravia wins at the Edgar Awards

A Scandal in Belgravia, the opening episode from Sherlock series two, has won at the 2013 Edgar Allan Poe Awards.

Chosen by the Mystery Writers of America, the awards honour the best in mystery fiction, non-fiction and television published or produced in the previous year.

The episode, written by Steven Moffat, edged past Elementary’s “Child Predator” episode (CBS Productions), Homeland‘s “New Car Smell” (Showtime/Fox21), Justified’s “Slaughterhouse” (Sony Pictures Television/FX Productions) and Longmire’s “Pilot” (A&E/Warner Horizon Television) in the TV Episode Teleplay category.

The Edgar Awards were presented to the winners at their 67th Gala Banquet on 2nd May 2013 in New York City.
