28 Aug 2012
Hartswood Films’ Sherlock has won the Best Terrestrial Programme of the Year Award and The Network and Ones to Watch Programme Choice Award at this year’s Media Guardian Edinburgh International Television Festival Channel of the Year Awards.
Sherlock beat shows Downton Abbey, Educating Essex, Homeland and The Voice to take the title of Terrestrial Programme of the Year for the second year running. Sherlock also beat Black Mirror, Educating Essex, and Homeland to take The Network and Ones to Watch Programme Choice Award which is voted for by delegates of the festival’s talent schemes The Network and Ones to Watch.
Now in its 11th consecutive year, the Channel of the Year Awards is in recognition of the increasingly competitive and often challenging market that today’s TV companies operate in, and to celebrate the creative, innovative and commercial solutions that both channels and production companies present. The awards were held on 24th August in Edinburgh and were hosted by Jason Byme.
