Sherlock receives a spectacular 13 Primetime Emmy Award nominations

We are delighted to announce that the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences has today announced a phenomenal 13 nominations for Hartswood Films’ Sherlock in the 64th Primetime Emmy Awards.

Sherlock has received nominations for Outstanding Miniseries or Movie, Outstanding Lead Actor in a Miniseries or Movie for Benedict Cumberbatch (Sherlock), Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Miniseries or Movie for Martin Freeman (Dr. John Watson), Outstanding Writing for a Miniseries, Movie or a Dramatic Special for Steven Moffat, and Outstanding Directing for a Miniseries, Movie or a Dramatic Special for Paul McGuigan.

Sherlock also received eight nominations for Outstanding Casting, Cinematography, Art Direction, Single-Camera Picture Editing, Costumes, Sound Mixing, Sound Editing and Music Composition.

Co-creator Steven Moffat said: “13 just got lucky. That’s an amazing number of nominations for Sherlock and we are beyond thrilled. This has been a passion project for everyone involved and its success has overwhelmed all of us. I think we’re even more overwhelmed this morning.”

The 64th Primetime Emmy Awards will take place on Sunday 23rd September at the NOKIA Theatre Los Angeles, California and will be hosted by Jimmy Kimmel.
