Debbie Vertue

Debbie is Director of Operations for Hartswood Films as well as a Company Director and Secretary.

Debbie worked in the freelance sector of the Film and TV industry for over 15 years, working her way up from Runner to 1st Assistant Director. She worked in the capacity of 3rd Assistant Director on such films as The Bounty (Anthony Hopkins, Mel Gibson), Octopussy, The Hunger (David Bowie, Susan Sarandon), Witness for the Prosecution (Sir Ralph Richardson, Deborah Kerr); 2nd Assistant Director on Oxford Blues (Rob Lowe, Ally Sheedy) and then moved over into ITV and Commercials as a 1st Assistant Director.

Debbie left the freelance world and joined Beryl Vertue in the family company in 1993, working as a Production Coordinator on several of Hartswood’s dramas and comedy productions. She was Production Manager on Men Behaving Badly and all of Hartswood’s documentary output, as well as co-produced the dramatised documentary The Welsh Great Escape.

Debbie sits on the Business Affairs Council of Pact (Producers Alliance of Cinema and Television) and is a member of the Production Guild.
